His Youthfulness, Hon. Awa Peter A., Embarks on a Thank You / Familiarization Tour Across Boki Leadership Landscape
Following his successful inauguration as the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Coordinator for Boki Local Government Area, His Youthfulness, Hon. Awa Peter A., has commenced an impactful and strategic thank you/familiarisation tour across Boki leadership and elite circles. This initiative marks a proactive step in fostering stronger partnerships between the NYCN and elites within the region.
Accompanied by a delegation of vibrant and committed Boki youths, the tour began with a courtesy visit to the Rt. Hon. Hilary Ekpang Bisong, Chief Whip of the Cross River State House of Assembly, at his residence at Summit Hill. Rt. Hon. Bisong commended the youthful leadership and encouraged Hon. Awa to prioritize teamwork and transparency within his executive council. He further advised the Coordinator to manage his personal affairs prudently, noting that NYCN, as a non profit organization, should be given attention during leisure, not at the expense of livelihood. The lawmaker pledged his support and urged the youth leadership to embark only on achievable and impactful projects.
In response, Comrade Abel Aria expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Hon. Member for his counsel and commitment to youth development, offering prayers for his continued upliftment.
The second leg of the tour, led by the Coordinator to Hon. Philip Bette Obi’s Office, Member representing Boki I State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly. Hon. Obi welcomed the delegation warmly, commending their vision and dedication. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing education over cocoa related conflicts, which have often led to unrest among youths. He also called for intensified sensitization against cultism. During the visit, the Chairman of the Cocoa Association of Cross River State (CAN), Mr. Bobua Pascal, who joined the session, pledged to organize a follow up engagement with the NYCN and expressed his readiness to support the Councilโs growth.
In a further show of strategic engagement, Hon. Awa Peter A. paid a familiarisation visit to Dr. Juliet Diwa, Cross River State APC Special Leader. Dr. Diwa expressed her gratitude for the recognition and affirmed her commitment to championing youth centered initiatives. She particularly emphasized inclusivity, urging the youth council to consider women and persons with disabilities in their activities.
Hon. George Ajangson, in his remarks, lauded Dr. Diwaโs leadership and encouraged her to extend maximum support to the Coordinator, advocating for a “120% backing” of his vision.
This familiarisation tour by Hon. Awa Peter A. is not only a testament to his readiness to lead but also a strong foundation for a new era of synergy between youth and leadership in Boki LGA.
