The Media Office of the former Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator Ben Ayade, wishes to make the following clarifications regarding the disbursement of N11.3 Billion under the Anchor Borrowers programme by the CBN:
1. That from the N11.3 Billion Agric Loan, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) disbursed N8.3 billion directly to 47,669 farmers in the state and not to the Cross River State Government.
2. That the list of farmers was drawn by CBN in Abuja and payment was made directly to these famers, not Cross River State Government.
3. That the Cross River State Government got only N3 Billion from the CBN from the agric loan.
4. That the N3 Billion received was partial support for the administration\’s agro-industrialisation drive
5. That the said N3 Billion received by the Cross River State Government has since been repaid in full way back May 2022 . (Evidence of debit amortisation is here attached)
