In 2010, Hon. Vena Ikem and a host of others were on Ayade’s neck to run for the Senate, and at a point, he even championed the campaign for Ayade. Back then, Ayade was a good product.
Before Vena’s unceremonious exit from the State Executive Council as Commissioner for Works under Senator Liyel Imoke, he had vowed to commit suicide if Ayade became Governor of Cross River State in 2015.
The inborn bitterness and hatred for Ayade is another story for another day.
His Excellency, Senator Prof. Barr. Ben Ayade, lost to the system in the 2023 general elections, not to Jarigbe and his boys. As politicians, we all know the external conspiracy, mobilization, and sponsorship that influenced that election.
According to Vena, Ayade is a bad product, yet he is still so worried about his subsequent emergence as APC candidate for Cross River North Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections.
As an experienced politician, that should have been your joker for an easy win in 2027, but you’re still having sleepless nights because of Ayade.
Vena, what an irony.
My candid advice to Hon. Barr. Vena Ikem is to rethink his over 35 years of political history and make a change for the better.
For your information, you are not the only politician in the field. We are all aware of the buildup from within and in partnership with you against Ayade.
Prof. Ayade has always distinguished himself in and out of government—reasons for your fears.
We love him, and Ayade is the answer come 2027.
