Bassey Akiba begin 3rd Batch of empowering cooperatives from his constituents

Development institutions including NIRSAL Plc. Bank of Agriculture, National Productivity Centre, CRS Cooperative Directorate, have lauded Rep. Bassey Akiba\’s Cooperative Scheme as a model for economic prosperity.

The commendations came on the heels of the Opening Session with Stakeholders in the ongoing 3rd Batch of Training for the Establishment of Farm Clusters for Oil Palm Farmers Cooperative in Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency at the Conference Hall of Jorany Hotel, Calabar.

In her welcome address, the Director General, Bassey Akiba Foundation, Mrs Precious Esse, reiterated the unyielding determination of Rep. Bassey Akiba to bring development closer to the people through Agric-Based Cooperatives.

While applauding the lawmaker\’s impactful initiative, a Cooperative Consultant in the Department of Cooperative Services, CRS, Mr. Simon Ewa, highlighted the economic opportunities and modus operandi of Cooperative Societies.

Also speaking, the Branch Manager, Bank of Agriculture, Calabar, Mr. Okabe Ernest, said the mission of BOA is to provide accessible and affordable financial services to farmers, agricultural businesses, and rural communities, supporting the development of Nigeria\’s agricultural sector.

Addressing the participants, a Consultant from the National Productivity Centre, CRS office, Mr. Kingsley Chukwukelu, described the Cooperative Scheme as a veritable tool for economic prosperity.

He stated that the goal of the National Productivity Centre is to create a culture of productivity and excellence in Nigeria, driving economic growth, job creation, and improve living standards for all citizens.

In his presentation, the Head, NIRSAL Field office, Calabar, Mr. Progress Uduzeli, commended Rep. Bassey Akiba for creating economic opportunities through the Cooperative initiative.

He explained that NIRSAL is a risk management institution, facilitating access to finance for agriculture and agribusinesses, driving economic growth, and food security in Nigeria.

The training thereafter swung into action with robust, critical, insightful, and celebral sessions as well as engaging discussions from both the facilitators and participants.

Organized by the National Productivity Centre, Abuja, the training is facilitated by the Federal Lawmaker, representing Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency, Rep. Bassey Akiba.
