It was a spectacle of splendor and radiance. The ambience was electric, with palpable excitement as the Bassey Otu/Bassey Akiba – BB Babes and BB Guys gathered to celebrate the birthday of the amiable and visionary Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu.
The groups, elegantly adorned in resplendent attire, exuded unity and pride as they sang praises, danced with unrestrained joy, and shared glowing testimonies of Governor Otu’s humane and impactful leadership.
In separate remarks, Hon. Nkoyo Otu, DG, BB Babes/Special Adviser to the Governor on Inter-party Affairs, and Hon. Ita Ayi, Secretary, BB Guys, eulogized the Governor, describing him as a leader whose heart beats for his people and steers Cross River State towards greatness.
Earlier, the Member representing Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency, Rep. Bassey Akiba, hailed Governor Otu’s purposeful leadership and remarkable achievements, noting that he has redefined governance and rekindled hope through policies anchored on peace, prosperity, and progress.
As melodious tunes filled the air and excitement rippled through the gathering, the celebration became a beautiful tapestry of joy, fellowship, and hope. There were heartfelt prayers for Governor Otu’s continued strength and divine guidance, followed by a burst of jubilation as the birthday cake was unveiled amidst cheers and applause.
The Sweet Prince, as he is fondly called, has become the bastion of good governance. The birthday celebration, held today at the serene Marian Hotels, Calabar, was a testament to the Governor’s commitment to his people and his vision for a brighter Cross River State.
