The Chairman of Biase Local Government Area, Hon. (Chief) Ada Charles Egwu has said that better is the end of everything than its beginning and that the essence of retirement in service is to show there is seasons for everything in life.
Hon. Ada Charles Egwu made this assertion during a sendforth ceremony organized by Biase Local Government Council in honour of the council\’s retiring Education Secretary, Bishop Martin Aquah and Head of Local Government Administration, Apostle Margaret Bassey on 5th September, 2022 held at the Council Secretariat.
According to the council Chairman, \”there\’s time for everything under the heaven.\” She added, \”A day is coming when every staff will bow out from service.\”
She stressed and urged the retiring Principal officers of Council to be grateful to God for finishing well, noting that most people started the journey alongside with them but couldn\’t finish well or where not privilege or lucky like them to witness this day.
While congratulating the duo on their retirement, Hon. Egwu, said, \”Bishop Aqua and Apostle (Mrs) Bassey indeed gave in their best in the service of their motherland, and are epitome of humility, persistence and discipline. They are good team leaders and players who places the interest of others first before theirs.
Responding to the Chairman\’s remarks during the send forth, Bishop Martin Aqua thanked God for giving him good health to successfully retire from service.
He particularly thanked the Council Chairman, Hon. (Chief) Ada Charles Egwu as well as other staff of the Education Authority for their show of love over the years.
He said, this is the first time in the history of Biase Local Government Area that retirement ceremony of this magnitude had ever taken place.
\”Thank you to those who put up this beautiful ceremony for him and his colleage and prayed God to bless them immeasurably and their families.\” He added.
On her part, Apostle (Mrs) Margaret Bassey, a retiring HOLGA, who also appreciated God for taking her journey in service to a successful conclusion, was full of appreciation to the Council Chairman for her motherly disposition and support over the brief times spent together.
\”Thank you Chairman and all other staff for the love over the years\” She added emotionally.
Well wishers from across religious, political, government, traditional spheres and family members witnessed the ceremony, among whom were: the Vice Chairman of Council, Hon.
