Some indigenes of Biase Local Government Area have appealed to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, to request a comprehensive documentary presentation of projects and achievements recorded by the current Chairman of Biase Local Government Council, Hon. Edodi Eyong Edodi since assuming office.
Here’s The Scorecard of Hon Edodi Eyong
The appeal follows growing concerns among some residents over what they describe as a lack of visible infrastructural development across parts of the local government area despite claims of numerous achievements being circulated on social media.

According to the concerned residents, recent promotional materials released by the chairman’s media team highlighted several projects and initiatives credited to the administration. However, they argued that many of the listed projects are either ongoing, partially completed, or yet to be fully operational.
The residents noted that while the administration has publicized its accomplishments through graphics and media campaigns, a detailed documentary showcasing completed projects, their locations, and their impact on the people would provide greater transparency and allow the public to assess the administration’s performance objectively.
They further maintained that local government chairmen serve as representatives of the Governor’s development agenda at the grassroots level, stressing that their performance often influences public perception of the state government.
“Your Excellency, local government administrations are extensions of your government. When they perform well, the people commend your leadership. When they fail to deliver, the criticism often extends to the state government,” one resident stated.
The concerned citizens also called for greater accountability and visibility of projects, arguing that residents deserve to see firsthand the impact of public funds and government initiatives within their communities.
They appealed to Governor Otu to encourage all local government chairmen across the state to periodically present verifiable records of their achievements through documentary reports and project inspections, thereby promoting transparency, accountability, and public trust.
The residents emphasized that their appeal is not intended to discredit any individual but rather to encourage openness and ensure that development efforts are properly documented and communicated to the people.
