Following the recent bomb explosion in Abuja, which occurred around noon near a Nigerian military camp and the bus stop opposite Mogadishu Cantonment, Special Envoy to West Africa for the International Human Rights Protection Service, Amb. Dr. Charles Omini, has issued a strong call for immediate action by Nigeria’s security agencies.
Amb. Omini condemned the incident and urged the military and other security bodies to intensify efforts to prevent any further occurrences. He emphasized that the safety and protection of citizens is a fundamental right that must be upheld across all parts of the country.
He commended the Nigerian military for their swift response and prompt commencement of investigations into the blast. According to him, this quick action is a necessary step towards curbing future threats and ensuring national security.
Amb. Omini further stressed that securing lives and property should remain a top priority, especially in the Federal Capital Territory, which is expected to be the safest and most protected part of the country.
