Calas Vegas Received Duncan Mighty, Gordons, Timaya And Iyanya On Valentine Concert At Calabar
The day began with a bikers\’ stunts display & parade, the faces of Cross Riverians and visitors beamed excitement on Monday, February 14, 2022 as Cross River State Government gave citizens and guests reasons to be happy and share love on Valentine\’s Day.
The spirit of love and happiness was rekindled in Nigeria\’s ancient city and tourism capital, Calabar welcome top Nigerian artistes,Duncan Mighty, Timaya and Gordons joined Iyanya, Effiom Trombone and a host of other musicians to thrill fans at a 5-star concert at Calas Vegas.
Declared open by the governor, His Excellency, Senator Prof. Ben Ayade, the \’Love Is Made In Calabar\’ event creatively highlighted fun activities to engage persons of various class. From the Valentine Bikers\’ Parade to the African Music Festival & Calas Vegas Beach Party, there was an uncontrollable display of passion, excitement, energy, desire, enthusiasm, courage, and vitality, that nourishes, protects and elongates the life-span of the human body.
The people, who turned out in their numbers, displayed a visible longing for something different to happen, something so exciting and new, carrying all along with it like a great tide.
With the events, Prof Ayade has been able to set another record in nautical tourism in Cross River State, Nigeria, as he unveiled the first ever amphibious cars purchased by a Nigerian state government, all innovative tourism products geared towards ensuring that the state maintains her position as an all-season preferred tourism destination.
There were several highpoints of the day, but the marriage proposal by the governor\’s look-alike protegee, Pius Osang to his hearthrob stole the show, in Governor Ayade\’s magnanimity, he announced full sponsorship for the wedding ceremony, just as he doled out millions of naira to the performing artistes for the night. Dignitaries who graced the occasion included the Deputy Governor, Prof. Ivara Esu, Senator Florence Ita Giwa, the speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Eteng Jones Williams, Big Brother Naija ex-house mates, Jay Paul, Queen Mercy & Jackie B.
In his remark, Cross River State Commissioner for Culture & Tourism Development, Mr Eric Anderson said the acquisition of the amphibious cars and the valentine event is to enable the state promote Calas Vegas Beach Resort – a new tourism city developed by the administration. Moreso, to further market the brand Calas Vegas, it has also been registered as a band for the Calabar Carnival, all ideas of Prof. Ben Ayade, driven by the ministry of Culture & Tourism to ensure that it comes to life for the benefit of Cross Riverians.
