The Department of Marine Services, under the aegis of the Office of the Special Adviser on Marine Services to His Excellency Apostle Sen Prince Bassey Otu, Governor of Cross River State, Capt. Otu Ita Otu expresses deep concern regarding the recent incident that affected some persons traversing the Oron-Calabar waterways. Our hearts go out to those impacted, and we empathize with the families and loved ones of the individuals involved.
In response to this incident, the Department of Marine Services is working in close collaboration with the Office of the state Security adviser,Major General Obono (Rtd), to ensure the safe rescue of those affected. We are leveraging all available resources and expertise to facilitate a successful operation. Our collective efforts are geared towards maintaining peaceful sea transportation in our waterways, and we are committed to achieving this goal through enhanced security measures and stringent safety protocols.
