The Cross River State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Ankpo Pius Edet, on December 19, 2025, held a well-attended town hall meeting with key stakeholders of Obaliku Local Government Area,
The was part of ongoing efforts to deepen community engagement and promote inclusive development.
The meeting, which took place at the Obaliku Local Government Council Hall, brought together traditional rulers, political leaders, youth and women leaders, community representatives, contractors, and other critical stakeholders from across the LGA.

The forum provided a platform for direct interaction between the government and the people on issues relating to infrastructure development and service delivery.
In his address, Hon. Ankpo Pius Edet reaffirmed the commitment of the Cross River State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, to improving road networks and other critical infrastructure across the state, including Obaliku LGA.

He explained that the town hall meeting was designed to listen to the people, understand their peculiar needs, and ensure that government projects align with community priorities.
The Stakeholders at the meeting raised concerns and made valuable contributions on road construction, rehabilitation, and the maintenance of existing infrastructure. They also called for stronger collaboration between contractors and host communities to ensure project sustainability and enhanced local content participation.
In response, Hon. Ankpo assured participants that all submissions and concerns raised would be carefully documented and addressed where necessary.
Hon. Ankpo Pius Edet stressed the importance of community support, cooperation, and peaceful engagement for the successful execution of government projects.
The concluded with goodwill messages from community leaders, who commended the Commissioner for his open-door policy and proactive engagement with grassroots stakeholders. They pledged their continued support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the administration of Governor Bassey Otu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
