Emphasizing further, Mr. Benjamin explains the reaction from the youths of the community from the previous election, which is not a better one for the forth-coming election in Akamkpa if such actions of the past occur again.
Mr. Benjamin pleaded with the chairman to see peace with them, as the youths of the land won\’t take it easy for the coming election. His appearance and meeting with the youth of the community will go a long way. Mr. Joseph in pain calls names of organized youths that cause pain and destruction because of the NYCN election in the Ayambang community. He then assured the chairman that anyone who refuses his address to the community will be answered by the state as a whole and will be seen as a person or group that led the community to any recent situation that will fall on the community. Therefore, as he (the chairman) comes, an opportunity should be given to the community youths via elections to choose their leader. These will avoid putting the blame on the community elders tomorrow, and an explanation should also be given to the community elders and youths why elections are important on occasions that have to do with leadership selection.
Ayambang Edet reminded the chairman of certain key points he should note when he officially visits the community, such as: 1. A group of youths that are organized by the community elders to fight for better opinions 2. allowing the youths to choose who will lead them via voting.
The chairman, Dan Obo Jr., reminded them of his role to play when it came to the situation concerning the youths. He assured them his presence would ease the crisis as he\’d visit the DPO and everyone related to this issue in the said local government. He also assured them of working with the Akamkpa NYCN LG chairman.
The State Chairman assured them of dropping the timetable for the election after the visit concerning these communal issues.
He appreciates the youth who sees him as important and decides to call him into the matter. He Pleaded with the youths to continue holding strong and keeping the community in order until his arrival.
