The Usumutong Council of Traditional Rulers in Abi Local Government Area has conferred the prestigious title of ‘Ovai Ikpareh 1’ on Iwara Inah, former domestic aide to ex-Governor Liyel Imoke.

The honorary title, which translates to ‘Problem Solver of Usumutong,’ recognizes Iwara’s significant contributions to the development of Usumutong and the Bahumonoh nation.
The coronation ceremony for Iwara Inah was held as part of the 2024 Usumutong New Yam Festival, attracting dignitaries such as Hon. Alex Egbona, Cross River State Commissioner for Environment Hon. Moses Osogi, and notable traditional rulers. The event celebrated Iwara’s leadership in self-sustaining projects and community advancement, with speakers urging others to follow his philanthropic example.
In his acceptance speech, Iwara pledged to continue his dedication to the progress and unity of Usumutong, further inspiring hope for the community’s future. The ceremony featured cultural displays, project commissioning, and fundraising for ongoing community development.
