Bassey Edet Otu conduct the election that saw the emergence of His Royal Majesty Ogamode Eje Ipoule, as the new Paramount Ruler of Yala.
Yesterday, marks another history in the entire Yala Land, as we witnessed a new dawn in the traditional rulers council of Yala, as a new Paramount Ruler emerged.
It’s worth giving credence to a very amiable, noble, gentle and an amazing leader, a man filled with compassion, sympathy and a peace loving soul, His Excellency, Apostle Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, the executive Governor of Cross River State for creating a peaceful atmosphere for the conduct of the election that saw to the emergence of His Royal Majesty Ogamode Eje Ipoule, as the new Paramount Ruler of Yala.
This act by the Governor, is a true reflection of his good will and intention to the good people of Cross River State and Yala in particular, on this note, I say thank you, Your Excellency, you are an incredible man and I am super proud of you.
The free, fair and credible election today in Yala, is a testament to the fact that, Yala is a peaceful place and remains one of the most hospitable LGA in Cross River State.
The emergence of His Royal Majesty, Ogamode Eje Ipoule, has created a warm atmosphere in Yala, as the people are in jubilation for the feet achieved today.
Recall that, Yala Local Government Area has been without a substantive paramount ruler for over a year now, since the demise of His Royal Majesty, Ogamode Clement Onah Ipoule, who passed on some time last year after a brief illness.
Let me also acknowledge the role the Chairman of Cross River State traditional rulers council played, His Royal Majesty, Solomon Osim Edward, the Paramount Ruler of Abi, who monitored, supervised and superintended over the election, which saw the overwhelming votes pulled for the winner. Let it be on record, Yala has 19 clan heads, four were absent due to ill-health and other unforeseen circumstances, while four currently do not have certificates, which automatically disqualified them from participating, the remaining eleven clan heads, pulled all eleven votes for his Royal Majesty, Ogamode Eje Ipoule, and emerged winner, after due diligence.
The entire process was also carefully monitored by the SA to the Governor on Chieftaincy affairs, Sir Frank Edet, alongside his entire team. The SA and his team, described the process as one of the most peaceful elections witnessed so far in the history of Cross River State traditional rulers council activities, applauding the Yala people for exhibiting such wonderful and amazing traits.
I also want to appreciate all sons and daughters of Yala, who played one role or the other, for maintaining calm and order in the process, even when the Yala Local Government Council Chairman tried to truncate the process by raising fake security so that election could be postponed for reason best known to him but the will of the people triumphed
Thank you Yala youths, women and elders, you are indeed, the true ambassador of peace.
Congratulations once again, Your Royal Majesty, Ogamode Eje Ipoule. The good people of Yala have entrusted their traditional obligations to you, i pray for good health, wisdom to discern between good and bad, foresight to lead Yala to an enviable feet and grace to work with your subjects.
