The Chairman, CRIDCOM, states that the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NATIP) are working together to address the trafficking of girls to Ivory Coast, with a specific case involving Alice Odey from Cross River State.

In a new development Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has issued a statement condemning the trafficking and assuring efforts to secure Alice Odey’s safe return.
In a new development NATIP is working to investigate and prosecute those responsible for the trafficking.
The Chairman, Cross River State Diaspora Commission, Hon Otu Okor has also made a statement, confirming efforts to bring Alice Odey back home safely.
Ivory Coast is a source, transit, and destination country for women and children trafficked for forced labor and commercial sexual exploitation. The country’s cocoa industry, a significant sector, has been linked to child labor and trafficking.
The Chairman, CRIDCOM, states that efforts are underway to ensure Alice Odey’s safe return. Upon her return, she will receive support and rehabilitation services to help her recover from her ordeal.
CRIDCOM urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities, that together, we can combat human trafficking and protect our citizens.
