The second term Governorship aspirations of His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State and the ruling All Progressives Congress on 16 September 2025 received a boost with endorsement from Forum of Former Council Chairmen, Central Senatorial District extraction.
In a press release jointly signed by the Forum Coordinator, Hon. Tony Ngban, former Ikom Chairman and Secretary, Associate Professor Jake Otu Enyia, former Boki Council Chairman respectively, the forum predicated her endorsement on trailblazing capacity of the governor whose policy thrusts is positively shaping the narrative.
The Forum enjoined members who are active APC members to galvanize support in ensuring the governor and other party candidates records unflinching success at polls.
The Calabar meeting which had 53 members in attendance promised an enlarged coast across the 66 political wards comprising Cross River State Central Senatorial District.
The Forum also pledged to bridge the gap on civic participation in elections.
This Forum reputed for grassroot appeal frowned at hyperbolic rendition from structureless opposition parties with no footage in the political scenery except inordinate ambitions to upstage the ruling party.
The former council Executives opined that democratic advocacies must align to constitutional provisions.
While the pendulum for 2027 elections looms, His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu and APC are enjoying seamless supports from constituents metamorphosing plethora of endorsements.
From the Cross River Southern Consultative Forum to Northern Coalition and latest Central Senatorial District, the message is clear with the APC positioned on a pedestal for electoral victory in the foreseeable future elections.
