The Honorable Commissioner of Health, Elder Dr. Henry Ayuk, representing His Excellency Apostle Sen Dr Bassey Edet Otu, Executive Governor of Cross River State commended Arch Clement Udie, a son of the soil and NDDC staff, for facilitating the construction of ICT centers and hostel accommodations. Dr. Ayuk described this initiative as a demonstration of love for the motherland and a testament to community unity.
The Commissioner reiterated Governor Otu’s commitment to supporting the project and ensuring that every senatorial district benefits from healthcare services and projects. He highlighted the government’s efforts in building health centers, providing funds, and resources to the people, emphasizing that these initiatives will positively impact health institutions. Dr. Ayuk also praised the college for effective project implementation with government resources.
During the ceremony, the Honorable Commissioner commissioned the Registry Department, Classroom block, Bursary, and Conference Center projects completed by the college management.
Mr. Coco-Bassey Esu, Special Assistant to the Governor on Nursing, expressed gratitude to Governor Otu for his unwavering support for nursing education and training. He stated, “Distinguished guests, esteemed members of the community, representatives of NDDC, and fellow healthcare professionals, it is an honor to stand before you today during this groundbreaking ceremony. This momentous occasion marks a significant milestone in our collective pursuit of excellence in healthcare delivery.”
Mr. Esu emphasized that the new facilities will enhance the learning experience of nursing students and provide them with state-of-the-art resources to excel in their field.
The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government, Hon. (Amb.) Peter Akonge Undiandeye, commended the community and government for attracting projects. He assured the community that with continuous support, the government will provide resources for projects.
The Provost of the College of Nursing Sciences Obudu, Dr. (Mrs.) Victoria Undeshi, expressed gratitude to Arch Clement Udie, the Cross River State Government, and community leaders for their efforts in facilitating the acquisition of 7.3 hectares of land, exceeding the requirements of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) of 5 hectares of land. She assured them that the students will appreciate the new facilities and resources provided.
The event was attended by religious leaders, traditional and community leaders, staff, and students of the institution, who all expressed their joy and appreciation for the development. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the journey towards improving healthcare delivery in Cross River State, with stakeholders expressing optimism about the positive impact of these projects on the community.
