Cross River Muslims upholds the Governor, State in Prayer on Arafat Day: An Event of Spiritual Reflection, Unity, and Supplication
The Muslim community in Cross River State has come together in a deeply spiritual and solemn gathering on Arafat Day, as a special prayer session organised by the Chairman of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Cross River State, Imam Kabeer Olowolayemo has been held to uphold the Governor, Apostle Sen Prince Bassey Otu, His Government and the State in prayers.
Held in honor of one of the most sacred days in Islam, the Arafat Day prayer provided an opportunity for Muslims both pilgrims and non-pilgrims to join in a unified voice of worship, repentance, and intercession. The event was marked by heartfelt supplications for peace, unity, divine forgiveness, and prosperity for individuals, families, Cross River State, and Nigeria at large.
Highlights of the Event was Spiritual Upliftment: Led by Imam Kabeer, the session featured Qur’anic recitations, dhikr (remembrance of Allah), and powerful sermons encouraging righteousness, humility, and national unity.
Prayers for Pilgrims: Special prayers were offered for Cross River pilgrims currently performing the Hajj in Saudi Arabia, asking for their safety, acceptance of their worship, and safe return.
Messages of Peace and Unity: Imam Kabeer emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence among diverse religious and ethnic groups in the state and called for collective moral renewal and spiritual consciousness.
Government and Community Representation: The event was attended by Muslim leaders, community stakeholders, and representatives of the Cross River State Government, reaffirming the inclusive and interfaith harmony that defines the state.
Imam Kabeer Olowolayemo expressed gratitude to all attendees and used the occasion to remind Muslims of the significance of Arafat a day on which the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) delivered his Farewell Sermon and encouraged all to continue in acts of charity, prayer, and repentance beyond the season.
