The meeting, held at the IOM Nigeria Office in Abuja, aimed to solidify collaboration between the two entities.

The CRIDCOM team comprised Hon. Commissioner Ignatius Oli, Rachael Bassey, Local Government Diaspora Focal Person (LGDFP) for Calabar Municipality, and Dr. Helen Archibong, LGDFP for Akpabuyo.
Key discussion points included:
– Concept Note: Reviewing and refining the concept note for the partnership
– IOM’s Technical Support: Exploring areas where IOM can provide technical assistance to CRIDCOM
– Priority Areas and Timelines: Identifying key areas of focus and establishing timelines for joint initiatives

This partnership is expected to enhance CRIDCOM’s ability to engage with the diaspora community, foster investments, and promote cultural exchange, ultimately contributing to the socio-economic development of Cross River State. The Commission’s establishment is part of Governor Bassey Otu’s broader vision to integrate the diaspora into the State’s development narrative.

By working together, CRIDCOM and IOM Nigeria aim to leverage their collective expertise and resources to drive growth, promote safe migration practices, and support the State’s global image.
