- Increase in Local Government Appointments:
- The bill aims to raise the number of appointments within each Local Government Area (LGA) to 50.
- Appointment of Special Advisers:
- Out of the 50 positions, 16 will be designated as Special Advisers to focus on strategic governance and developmental policies.
- Creation of Ward Relation Officers:
- A new category of officials, Ward Relation Officers, will be introduced to enhance communication and coordination between wards and local governments.
Objective of the Local Government Appointment Bill
The bill seeks to:
- Foster grassroots development by increasing representation and inclusivity.
