The event was held earlier today, October 10th, at the management development institution Mary Sclessor Calabar.
The executive governor, Ntufam Bassey Edet Otu, was humbly represented by his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, who encouraged the people of Cross River State to hold their peace and not fight as the palliative would get to their respective homes.
Odey assured cross-riverians that from the northern part of the state to the end part of the south senatorial district, whoever\’s eligible will be given his or her portion. The governor has assured everyone to stay put and follow the committee\’s distributive channel. 500 million has been added to the growth of the distribution phase to see how Cross River State will have more beneficiaries.
Prof. Owan Enoh assured Cross Riverians that distribution will not be based on politics; it will be open and transparent; therefore, any moves and activities regarding the state that demand giving out will be done openly.
Owan also informed the women, IDP, Hausa\’s chiefs, staff, and every other category meant to receive palliative that the 100 bags used to flag off the distribution are only for the National Youth Council and that their state chairman, Comr. Dan Obo Jr., has a different directive on distribution.
Comr. Dan Obo, Jr., chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Cross River State Chapter, first of all, appreciates the governor for his love and for always being youth-friendly.Dan reassured the governor to expect a smooth distribution channel from the side of youths, noting that from the hills of Obanliku down to Akpabuyo, every youth coordinator is all on the ground at the flag-off.
Appreciating the governor for the exercise, Mr. Gregory Olayi, State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), appealed for fair distribution of the palliatives in the 18 LGAs of the state to make sure it gets to the vulnerable, not just people around the state capital.
