The Cross River State Vice Chairmen Forum has paid a courtesy and appreciative visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon. Felix Idem, in recognition of the achievements recorded under his office and the administration of Governor Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu.
The meeting, moderated by Onun Ekuma Nwgu, Vice Chairman of Biase Local Government Area, was a moment of reflection, acknowledgment, and reaffirmation of support for the Governor’s people-oriented leadership.
Leading the delegation, Hon. Christy Iso, commended the Commissioner for his outstanding service delivery and moved a vote of confidence on his leadership. She went further to present a National Award of Recognition to Hon. Felix Idem on behalf of the forum, acknowledging his exceptional contributions to strengthening local government administration in the state.

Also speaking, Hon. Leonard Ogwa appreciated the Commissioner and reaffirmed the Vice Chairmen’s loyalty to the Governor. He urged the Commissioner to convey their heartfelt gratitude to Governor Otu, noting that the current administration has distinguished itself as one of the best in the history of the state.
Hon. Patricia Ebri also lent her voice, highlighting the Governor’s remarkable interventions through the office of the Commissioner, particularly during the June 2025 events. She described Hon. Idem as both a father and a big brother to the Vice Chairmen, always willing to listen and respond to their concerns.
In his response, Hon. Felix Idem warmly welcomed the Vice Chairmen and expressed gratitude for their show of love and solidarity. He dedicated the honour and recognition to Governor Otu, describing him as a father who listens and a leader committed to building a stronger, people-focused local government system.
He further commended the Vice Chairmen for their cooperation with their respective Chairmen, emphasizing that their harmonious relationships have helped prevent unnecessary crises in local government councils. He assured them of continued support from the Governor and described this era as a “season of sweetness,” where leadership is anchored on peace, unity, and service.
In conclusion, all the Vice Chairmen present reaffirmed their confidence in the Commissioner’s leadership, offered prayers for his continued success, and pledged their unwavering support to Governor Otu’s administration.
