CRS Commences Full Implementation Of The USAID-MCGL Quality Of Care Project, As Commisioner For Health Inaugurates The State Technical Working Group.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Janet Ekpenyong has inaugurated the state Technical Working Group that will be saddled with the task and onus of ensuring improved Quality of care in the State as it relates to the area of Reproductive Maternal, Newborn, child, Adolescent, Elderly, Health, Plus Nutrition (RMNCAEH+N) care program to meet the World Health organization standards.
This is part of the recommendation as the state commences full implementation of the USAID-Momentum Country and Global Leadership For Quality Of Care Project.
This project is billed to run for three (3) years in Collaboration with The Federal Ministry of Health and National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) with project execution funding by USAID.

The Inauguration which held at The Ministry of Health Office Complex at the behest of the honourable Commissioner had in attendance a cross section of specially selected medical personnel across the health sector, academia, implementing partners and other key stakeholders.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony Dr. Ekpenyong lauded the team for honouring the invite for the formal Inauguration of the team considering the expediency whilst pointing out that the Federal Ministry of Health in her resolve and quest to strengthen the quality of health care services delivery for all including the elderly had demanded that this exercise be conducted. She charged the team not to be limited in their services and interventions but should ensure they expand their scope across board in order to close existing gaps in the program as well as ensure huge success within the allocated time line.
Speaking further, Dr. Janet reiterated and brought to fore the terms of preference and objectives of the Programme even as she admonished the team to work to the best of their ability as a formidable team to contribute to the success of the project which aims at improving lives, reduce maternalandchildmortality. In her words \”we are happy to have people with unquestionable character who are ready to work so, we will succeed.\”
The Permanent secretary of the Ministry of Health Dr Pauline Obute weighed in with her thoughts observing to the team that the scope of intervention is quite wide and in order to achieve the goals and within the project window the team would have to think outside the box to ensure that the mandate and ultimate goal is achieved.

The Director for Public Health Dr Jonah Offor however urged the team to be well equipped for the task ahead as he opined will be demanding nevertheless very surmountable.
Responding on behalf of the team, Dr Offiong Ekpeme, a consultant pediatrician of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) expressed the delight and gratitude of her team stating that it is a divine intervention for them to be constituted as a team as she pledged to work tirelessly to achieve the set goal.

Highlight of the event was the formal Inauguration of the technical Working Group as done by the Honourable Commissioner for Health Dr Janet Ekpenyong.
