Dan Obo Reacts As Governor Otu Empowers 400 Citizens with ₦800m Grants

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Youth Mobilisation, Comr. Dan Obo, has commended Governor Bassey Edet Otu for his people-centered leadership following the empowerment of 400 citizens with seed grants worth ₦800 million.

The beneficiaries, drawn from different sectors including farmers, traders, and former members of the defunct Bakassi Defence Force, received the support under the state government’s economic empowerment programme aimed at boosting livelihoods and fostering sustainable development across the state.

Hon. Obo, in his congratulatory message, described the gesture as a bold demonstration of Governor Otu’s “People First” governance philosophy, noting that the empowerment initiative would go a long way in stimulating economic growth, reducing poverty, and enhancing social stability in Cross River State.

He added that extending the grants to former members of the Bakassi Defence Force was a remarkable step toward reintegration, peace-building, and harnessing the productive potential of youths who had once been marginalized.

“This intervention is not just about providing funds, it is about restoring hope, dignity, and opportunities for our people. Governor Otu has once again proven that he is committed to building a prosperous Cross River where every citizen has a fair chance to succeed,” Obo stated.

The Special Adviser also urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the grants, stressing that their success stories would further justify the governor’s vision of economic inclusivity and empowerment.

With this ₦800 million initiative, Governor Otu continues to strengthen his administration’s legacy of empowering citizens, particularly youths and rural dwellers, while setting a strong foundation for sustainable prosperity in the state.
