In a remarkable display of endurance and determination, University of Calabar (UNICAL) student Daniel Ehis Aiguohkian is poised to break the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous writing time, an astounding feat lasting 188 hours, equivalent to 8 days.
This achievement comes on the heels of UNICAL\’s recent success in the 2023 Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition (MLMC), where the university emerged as the African Champions. The winning team, comprising Felix-Uche Richard Chikeziri, Akpoiroro Victory Oghenekparobor, and Musa Omma-Agbon Zaiki, showcased exceptional legal acumen on the global stage.

The MLMC, hosted by the International Institute of Space Law (IISL) within the 74th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Baku, Azerbaijan, drew participation from 77 teams worldwide. UNICAL\’s journey to the semi-final stage, outshining 17 African universities, reflects the institution\’s commitment to excellence in legal education.
Daniel Ehis Aiguohkian\’s record-breaking writing endeavor adds another dimension to UNICAL\’s achievements, highlighting the diverse talents nurtured within the university. As he embarks on this extraordinary feat, the UNICAL community extends its congratulations and support to Aiguohkian, recognizing the dedication and discipline required to undertake such a challenge.
