DG MEDA Facilitates Digital Innovation Hubs across the 3 Senatorial Districts of the State

Written by calabarGist

The Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (CRSMEDA) has secured a strategic partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to deploy state-of-the-art Digital Learning Centres (DLC) at Bendi Technical College (Obanliku LGA) and Government Secondary School (Adiabo, Odukpani LGA). This initiative marks a major milestone in CRSMEDA’s mission to integrate ICT into the state’s enterprise framework, connecting remote communities to the global digital marketplace.

Designed as comprehensive strategic interventions, these hubs will bridge the digital divide by providing modern computing hardware, high-speed internet, and Local Area Networks (LAN). To ensure uninterrupted innovation, the facilities will feature cutting-edge smart boards and sustainable solar-powered energy systems. This infrastructure lays the foundation for a robust tech ecosystem spanning the Northern and Southern Senatorial Districts.

Great Ogban, Director-General of CRSMEDA, emphasizes that these digital hubs are the new engines of economic growth. They are designed as vibrant incubators where students, artisans, and small business owners can master high-demand tech skills and scale their enterprises through e-commerce. The agency is committed to transforming Cross River State into a premier destination for digital services and tech-driven entrepreneurship.

The implementation is already underway, with specialized team setup and NITDA’s Project Management Department overseeing execution. To ensure a seamless rollout, the beneficiary institutions are cooperating closely with the Agency and have designated liaison officers to manage all project-related correspondence. This synergy between federal and state bodies is a key driver of the administration’s “People First” agenda.

As CRSMEDA continues to pursue innovative partnerships, these DLCs stand as a testament to the state’s progress in digital empowerment. We invite stakeholders across all sectors to watch this space, as these hubs will soon provide the connectivity tools needed to take Cross River State enterprises to the world.
