DG NYSC Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu Send Message To Corp Members

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu has admonished Corps Members to create good contents on the social media instead of using it for negative purposes.

He said they should utilize the social media for national unity and integration, personal development, religious harmony, business growth, interpersonal relationships, positive networking among others.

General Nafiu disclosed this during his separate visits to the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream Two Corps Members currently having their Orientation at the NYSC Anambra State Orientation Camp in Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Imo State Orientation Camp in Eziama-Obiare and Enugu State Orientation Camp in Agwu.

Speaking further, General Olakunle Nafiu urged the Corps Members to maximize the available opportunities of the service year to learn the new cultures of their respective host communities, make new friends that would serve as good memories of the service year for them in future.

While briefing General Nafiu about her camp situation report, the NYSC Anambra State Coordinator, Mrs Pauline Ojisua said the Corps Members had been helpful in the day-to-day running of the camp by voluntarily joining the various committees in camp, thereby contributing to the successes achieved so far.

“A total number of 1,186 Corps Members comprising 679 males and 507 females were successfully registered while the three Corps Camp Directors have been very outstanding in assisting the Camp Director in the day-to-day administration of the camp”, she said.

Similarly, in Imo State, the Coordinator, Mr Evans Okwor informed General Nafiu that the camp activities have been going on without any hitch.

“A total of 13 Corps Doctors, 11 Nurses, 14 Pharmacists, 8 Medical Laboratory Scientists, 3 Physiotherapists, 2 Radiographers and 5 other Medical Personnel were registered with the Camp Clinic.

We have a total of 1,194 Corps Members comprising 602 males and 592 females”, he said.

Also, the NYSC Enugu State Coordinator, Mrs Kemi Awolola informed General Nafiu that 132 Corps Medical Personnel comprising 19 Doctors, 11 Pharmacists, 13 Nurses, 1 Physiotherapist, 13 Medical Laboratory Scientists, 3 Optometrists, 4 Radiographers and 8 Paramedics were registered and they angry actively providing medical services.

She added that all Camp participants comprising 1,405 Corps Members with 759 males and 646 females had been exceptional in the discharge of their duties with high level of synergy.
