C’RIVER COMMISSIONER FOR HUMANITARIAN AFFAIRS , DR HELEN ISAMOH- EGODO VISITS THE MINISTER FOR HUMANITARIAN AFFAIRS AND POVERTY ALLEVIATION IN ABUJA
The Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, CRS Dr Helen Isamoh- Egodo and her team from the CRS Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs visited the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu in Abuja.
Dr. Egodo congratulated the Honorable Minister on her well deserved appointment as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria stating that her appointment is a proof of hard-work and visionary leadership, haven been a Commissioner for Health in Cross River State in the past administration, she was exceptional and considered as the best Commissioner. She revealed that The Ministry and the good people of Cross River State are proud of her exceptional achievements in Nigerian political system.
Dr Egodo seized the moment to inform the Honorable Minister that His Excellency, Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu, the Governor of Cross River State created the Cross River State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs whose mission is to develop humanitarian policies, provide effective coordination for Disaster Management, poverty alleviation and timely interventions for people or communities under man-made or natural disasters on the 16th of August, 2023.
During the visit, important discussions were held on various initiatives and programs aimed at addressing poverty and improving the lives of Cross Riverians and Nigerians in general. The meeting focused on strategies to enhance collaboration and maximize the impact of their efforts in Cross River State.
Dr Egodo expressed her gratitude to the Minister for her warm welcome and commitment to supporting Cross River State’s Humanitarian endeavors asserting that her valuable insights and guidance will undoubtedly contribute to the ongoing efforts to uplift the lives of the vulnerable and marginalized communities in our dear state.
The Honorable Minister, Dr Betta Edu appreciated Dr Egodo who was accompanied by Mr Francis Aribiah,Director in the Social Protection Department and Head Cross River State Cash Transfer Unit, for the show of solidarity and felicitation assuring them of her allegiance to work hand in hand with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs CRS towards the implementation of innovative solutions and creation of sustainable change among other projects.
