Dr. Martha Agba has joined in celebrating with the good people of Obanliku Local Government Area on the occasion of their 2025 New Yam Festival, a rich cultural heritage that unites the community in thanksgiving, joy, and tradition.
In her goodwill message, Dr. Agba described the festival as not only a celebration of harvest but also a symbol of the strength, unity, and resilience of the Obanliku people. She noted that the New Yam Festival remains one of the most cherished cultural events in Cross River State, reflecting the people’s deep connection to their roots, land, and agricultural heritage.
Dr. Agba further commended His Royal Majesty, Uchua Amos Uyimulam, the Paramount Ruler of Obanliku, alongside other traditional leaders of Obanliku, for preserving the customs and values that continue to give the people a sense of identity and pride.
She prayed for peace, prosperity, and continued progress for Obanliku, while reaffirming her commitment to initiatives that promote cultural heritage, development, and communal unity.
“The New Yam Festival is a time of joy and reflection. It reminds us of the blessings of hard work and the importance of community. I celebrate with the great people of Obanliku today and always,” she said.
