A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Martha Agba, has thrown her support behind the party’s ongoing electronic membership registration exercise in Obudu Local Government Area, providing critical logistical and financial assistance to ensure the success of the exercise.
The support was announced during a stakeholders’ meeting convened by Martha Agba herself, bringing together party leaders, registration agents, and other key stakeholders involved in the APC e-registration exercise in Obudu.
In her address, Dr. Martha thanked party leaders, agents, and members for honouring her invitation. She noted that the APC e-registration exercise is currently ongoing and that many party members, in various capacities, have been assigned responsibilities to ensure its success.
According to her, “The APC e-registration is ongoing, and most of us in our various capacities have been assigned to take up this task. I decided to see how I can support in my own little way.”
She further disclosed that she was challenged by reports indicating that her ward currently records the lowest turnout in the ongoing e-registration exercise, a development that motivated her to take deliberate steps toward improving participation and strengthening the process at the grassroots.
To enhance the effectiveness of the exercise, she announced the donation of 10 smartphones, one each for the 10 lead agents coordinating the e-registration across Obudu’s wards. She also provided 200 printed registration forms for each of the 10 wards, totaling 2,000 registration forms, as well as 50 reflective jackets to aid easy identification and coordination of agents during field activities. In addition, she made a cash donation of ₦500,000 to support logistics for the exercise.
The meeting was attended by the APC Chapter Chairman, who delivered the opening address, alongside the 10 lead agents, other registration agents, and party stakeholders. The Lead Agent of Obudu Urban Ward presented the remarks speech on behalf of the other agents.
One of the registration agents, while speaking at the meeting, commended Dr. Martha Agba’s intervention and called on party leaders at various levels to emulate her gesture and replicate similar support in their respective wards, noting that such collective efforts would significantly enhance the success of the e-registration exercise.
Stakeholders present praised Dr. Martha Agba for her leadership and commitment, describing her support as a timely and practical contribution toward strengthening the APC at the grassroots in Obudu Local Government Area.
The APC e-registration exercise continues across all wards in Obudu, with party leaders urging members and supporters to actively participate to build a strong, credible, and well-organized party structure ahead of future political engagements.
