The Federal Government Girls College Alumni Association expresses profound pride and commendation for one of its distinguished ex-students, who made history as the first female pilot on the inaugural Ibom Air flight to Accra.

Captain Aniema Enahoro(nee Medekong) is from Akwa Ibom State and schooled in Federal Government Girls College Calabar as her hostel was Bassey Enene. She\’s one of the first female pilot who joined forces in the historic achievement of Akwa Ibom State made Ibom Air flights from Lagos State to Accra Ghana.

Ibom Air, a flagship airline of Akwa Ibom State, marked a significant milestone on October 17, 2023, by expanding its operations regionally with a historic flight connecting Lagos to Accra. The pioneering pilot, an alumna of the Federal Government Girls College, showcased exceptional skill and leadership in navigating this groundbreaking journey.

In celebration of the upcoming 50th anniversary of Federal Government Girls College Calabar in November 2023, themed \”Our Almamatar, Our Pride – Celebrating the Bond of Feminine Graces,\” the association recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of its students and ex-students. The recent feat of the alumna pilot symbolizes the embodiment of the college\’s commitment to nurturing empowered and accomplished women.
