The Federal Lawmaker representing Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency, Rep. Bassey Akiba, has expressed deep empathy with residents of Calabar and other adjoining LGAs following the devastating windstorm that struck the city on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
In a heartfelt message, Rep. Bassey Akiba conveyed his solidarity with individuals, families, and businesses affected by the natural disaster.
“I stand with you at this difficult time. The havoc wreaked by the windstorm is harrowing. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who have suffered losses or displacement as a result of this unfortunate incident”.
While commending the Cross River State Government’s proactive efforts, Rep. Bassey Akiba urged residents to remain vigilant and adhere to safety advisories issued by the authorities.
