Full Gist About Ibom Air Passenger’s Reaction With Hostess

Comfort Emmanson, an Ibom Air passenger accused of assaulting airline staff aboard an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos, has been charged to court and remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos.

Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, confirmed the development on Monday via his official X handle, urging the flying public to exercise more caution.

According to reports, Emmanson, seen in a viral video repeatedly slapping a purser, allegedly refused to switch off her mobile phone before take-off despite multiple instructions. The confrontation escalated upon arrival in Lagos, where she physically attacked the crew member and reportedly attempted to remove a fire extinguisher, which the airline said could have endangered the aircraft, crew, and passengers.

Ibom Air has since banned Emmanson from all future flights, describing her actions as a serious safety threat.

This case comes amid warnings from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) of stricter sanctions against disruptive passengers, as incidents of unruly behavior in Nigerian airports continue to rise. It also follows a recent controversy involving Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (K1), who allegedly tried to stop a ValueJet flight from taking off after being deboarded.
