Gov. Otu Approves Committee for Implementing N70,000 Cross River State New Minimum Wage

The Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has approved the formation of the Joint Public Service Negotiating and Implementation Committee to oversee the implementation of the newly approved N70,000 national minimum wage and its consequential adjustments in the state.

In line with the governor’s commitment to improved welfare for public servants, the committee is expected to begin sessions as early as November 1, 2024, and conclude deliberations promptly to facilitate seamless compliance and timely wage adjustments across the state’s public sector.

Obol Dr. Innocent E. Etung, the Head of Service of Cross River State, has been appointed as the Chairman of the committee. His extensive experience in public administration is expected to guide the committee in making informed decisions that will benefit public service employees across the state.
