Gov. Otu Charges Newly Promoted Officers to Rededicate Themselves to Duty

The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, has decorated fourteen newly promoted officers attached to Government House, Calabar, charging them to rededicate themselves to duty while upholding the virtues of professionalism, integrity, and respect for human rights.

Governor Otu, who was represented at the ceremony by his deputy, Peter Odey, gave the charge during the decoration held at Government House on Tuesday.

Expressing delight at their elevation by the Nigeria Police Force from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Dr. Odey described the promotion as a well-deserved recognition of their diligence, discipline, and commitment to service.

Responding on behalf of the promoted officers, ASP Kufre Friday attributed their elevation not only to hard work and dedication but also to God’s grace. He appreciated the Cross River State Government for providing an enabling environment for officers and men of the Force to perform their duties effectively.

He pledged their renewed commitment to professionalism and dedicated service to the state.

The ceremony was witnessed by the Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, CP Rashid Afegbua, represented by DCP Anthony Placid (mni), in charge of Finance and Administration, as well as the Station Officer at Government House, DSP Dickson Emmanuel Etim.
