Governor Otu declares Thursday, 31st October, and Friday, Ist November, 2024 Public Holidays ahead of November 2, Local Government Elections
In a bid to ensure full participation of all Cross Riverians in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for November 2nd, His Excellency, the Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Otu has declared Thursday, October 31, and Friday, November 1, 2024, as public holidays across the State.
Governor Otu said the decision is to allow ample time for those who have to travel from Calabar to various parts of the state, particularly those in far-flung areas, who have to exercise their civic duty and vote in the election.
The Governor urges all residents to take advantage of the two-day holidays to engage in the electoral process and make their voices heard.
The Governor added that it is imperative that every citizen participates actively.
