The Cross River State Governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, will be inspiring small businesses in the state at the second People First Enterprise Awards scheduled to hold on November 30, 2025, at the esteemed Hogis Royale on Bishop Moyacha Avenue, State Housing Estate, Calabar, by 6pm.

Organised by the Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (CRSMEDA), the People First Enterprise Awards is designed to encourage entrepreneurship and provide support to small businesses across the state making our everyday living easier through their products and exceptional services.

This year’s theme, “Empowering Dreams, Transforming The Future,” reflects our dedication to honoring individuals and organizations that exemplify excellence and innovation in their fields. We aim to highlight the vital role of entrepreneurship in driving socio-economic development, as expressed by Great Ogban, Director-General/ Chief Executive Officer of MEDA.

The event will also feature Dr. Charles Odii, Director-General/CEO of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) who will deliver the keynote speech, providing inspiration and insights for aspiring entrepreneurs and business leaders.

This year, each category winner will receive a ₦500,000 unconditional grant to support their business endeavors. Join us for an unforgettable evening filled with engaging discussions and networking opportunities.

The fourteen award categories include Agriculture and Value Chain; Tourism and Hospitality; Fashion and Styling; Transportation and Logistics; Event Management; Manufacturing and Production; and Entertainment and Lifestyle. Others are Retail, Wholesale and Distribution; Technology and Innovation; Media and Journalism; Content Creation and Filmmaking; Health and Wellness; and Artisan and Skilled Works; as well as Education and Advocacy.
