His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, the Executive Governor of Cross River State, has extended warm congratulations to Mr. Ayo Sotinrin on his recent appointment as the Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Governor Otu lauded the appointment, describing Mr. Sotinrin as a “round peg in a round hole.” He emphasized that Mr. Sotinrin’s extensive background in agribusiness, finance, infrastructure development, and public service makes him exceptionally qualified to lead the institution at this critical time.
To personally convey this message and further strengthen strategic alliances, the Governor dispatched a high-powered delegation led by Mr. Great Ogban, Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA). Accompanying the Director General were key members of the MEDA Management Staff.
During the productive meeting with the new Bank of Agriculture MD, discussions focused on several vital areas for Cross River State’s agricultural sector. Key among these were the renewal of matching funds for agro-allied businesses within the state and the deepening of the existing partnership between the Bank of Agriculture and MEDA. The Cross River State delegation also explored enhanced agricultural project financing across crucial agricultural value chains, aiming to significantly boost Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) development in the sector.
Mr. Ayo Sotinrin expressed profound gratitude for the palpable support and encouragement from the Cross River State delegation. He assured them of a robust and strengthened collaboration, emphasizing the Bank’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda for national food security and sustainable MSME development within the agricultural sector.
