Hon.Kingsley Ntui Boast Cocoa Production in Etung With ₦15 Million for Seedlings

In a bold move aimed at revitalising Cocoa farming in Etung and its neighbouring communities, the member representing Etung State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly (CRSHA), Evang. (Hon.) Kingsley Ntui Isong, made a significant contribution to the agricultural with a donation of over Fifteen Million Naira (₦15 Million), distributed to over 100 beneficiaries for the purchase of Cocoa Seedlings.
This initiative which falls under his Mini Agro Empowerment Programme, provided Cocoa seedlings to farmers in Ajassor Community (Phase I) on 3rd September, 2024.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ntui expressed his commitment to the welfare of his constituents, highlighting that the donation is just one of the many ways he intends to attract and release more democratic dividends to the people of Etung.
Supporting her husband’s initiative, Mrs Helen Kingsley Ntui played a significant role in the empowerment drive by distributing over 300 quality High-Target wrappers to the women in commemoration of Etung New Yam Festival.
This gesture was a symbol of appreciation and encouragement in acknowledgement of the vital role that women play in Cocoa farming and the broader agricultural landscape of the area.
In his remarks, chairman of the occasion, Ntufam (Sir) John Oru Etta, a former Chairman of Etung Local Government Area, lauded Hon. Ntui for his unparalleled generosity and dedication to the development of Etung and further noted that this kind of empowerment initiative is a rarity in the political history of Etung which he urged other leaders to emulate.
Adding his voice to the chorus of appreciation, the Paramount Ruler of Etung Local Government, HRM Ntufam Anthony Ntui Etta, expressed his profound gratitude for the cash donation, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in fostering community development.
He further urged the people of Ajassor and Etung at large to rally behind Hon. Ntui to ensure that Etung communities continue to receive more dividends of democracy and developmental projects.
The expression of gratitude did not end there as a former Leader of Etung Legislative Council, Hon. Bassey Agbor Njor, took the opportunity to commend the member, describing the donations and the lawmaker’s ongoing outreach efforts as unprecedented in the political history of Etung.
The event, which was part of the annual Etung New Yam Festival Celebration, was a vivid demonstration of how community leaders can leverage their positions to bring tangible benefits to their people. As Cocoa farmers across Etung embark on a new planting session, they do so with renewed hope and optimism, thanks to the support of their representative.
