Inter-House Sports: Rep. Bassey Akiba Restates Commitment To Supporting Student’s To Excel In Their Academic Endeavours
The Member representing Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency, Rep. Bassey Akiba, has restated his commitment to supporting students to excel in their academic endeavours through the Educational Support Programme. He made the remarks at the just concluded Inter-House Sports of Government Secondary School, Barracks Road, Calabar.
Represented by the Director General, BASSEY AKIBA FOUNDATION(BAF), Mrs. Precious Esse and Ward Liaison Officer, Mr. Unyime Samuel, Rep. Bassey Akiba, who was the Chairman of the occasion, emphasized the vital role that sports and extra-curricular activities play in the holistic development of students. “Extra-curricular activities are essential for nurturing not just physical fitness but also teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills. They contribute significantly to the overall educational experience and can help students discover their passions beyond the classroom.”
The Inter-House Sports event brought together students, staff, and parents, fostering a sense of community and school spirit. Various athletic competitions were held, allowing students to display their talents.
