The International Organization for Human Rights Development and Environment (IOHRDE) is a globally recognized NGO dedicated to advancing human rights, promoting sustainable development, and protecting the environment. Its mission is built on three core pillars: human rights advocacy, sustainable development, and environmental protection.
The Cross River State Chapter of IOHRDE recently hosted a prestigious International Recognition Award and National Human Rights Campaign to honor distinguished leaders who have contributed to human rights advocacy and community development.
Dr. Mrs. Vera Adinya, the Cross River State Coordinator of IOHRDE, expressed her gratitude to all attendees. She provided insights into the NGO’s mission and achievements, emphasizing that the award ceremony is not just about recognition but also a call to action to uphold human rights and societal progress.
Lectures on Human Rights and Leadership
Renowned leaders and scholars delivered thought-provoking lectures on human rights implementation and leadership, including:
Mr. Remi Ajuga, Cross River State Coordinator of the National Human Rights Commission, who spoke on “The True Measure of Leadership: Human Rights, Social Impact, and the Legacy We Leave Behind.”
Prof. Itam Hogan Itam, Eminent Scholar and Paramount Ruler of the Efut Nation, who lectured on “My Community, The People, and Their Security.”
Prof. Itam highlighted the rising cases of human rights violations driven by poverty and lack of awareness. He noted that many people unknowingly violate human rights through actions such as theft and excessive noise pollution.
