Authorities uncovered suspicious financial transactions linked to the church’s shepherd. According to police reports, ₦1.5 million was withdrawn from Adedamola’s account on the day he disappeared. A portion of the funds was traced to Sup. Evang. Whepetoji Babaniyeh, the church’s shepherd, and his daughter. Initially, Babaniyeh denied any involvement but later claimed the money was meant for a Thanksgiving donation when confronted with evidence.

Further investigation led officers to the church premises, where Adedamola’s body was discovered buried under suspicious circumstances. A gun and an axe were also recovered from the scene. The shepherd has since been arrested, as police intensify their investigation into the shocking incident.
