Chief Martha Agba, PhD chaired the Screening and Evaluation Committee for the Rising Progressive Leaders Fellowship (RPLF), a flagship leadership development initiative of the Progressive School of Politics, Leadership and Statecraft (PSPLS), the human capital development arm of the APC National Youth Wing.
The screening and evaluation session, which held yesterday, Monday 2nd February 2026, took place at the APC Youth House, The Nest Resource Centre, 8B Ajesa Street, close to Banex, Wuse II, Abuja.

The Rising Progressive Leaders Fellowship (RPLF) is designed as an elite, rigorous and transformational programme aimed at producing a new cadre of high-value, governance-ready young leaders prepared for public sector leadership and national service. The fellowship targets exceptional emerging leaders with the capacity to contribute meaningfully to governance today, while being deliberately groomed to shape leadership and statecraft tomorrow.
Organisers disclosed that the programme received over 1,700 applications, out of which the committee reviewed 100 shortlisted applications and selected the best 20 candidates, based on predetermined criteria and evaluation standards.
The committee, chaired by Chief Martha Agba, PhD, also includes distinguished members such as Moremi Ojudu, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President of Nigeria on Community Engagement (South West), and Chalya Shagaya, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Entrepreneurship Development, among many other notable members.
Speaking on the importance of the committee’s work, the National Youth Leader of the APC, Dayo Israel, noted that the committee’s role was critical in identifying candidates of competence, character and commitment, while commending the dedication and professionalism brought to the process.
The Rising Progressive Leaders Fellowship is expected to play a key role in shaping a new generation of progressive leaders across public sector institutions, political structures and policymaking spaces in Nigeria.
