MEDA Contributes to Groundbreaking Gender Norms Survey in Cross River State
The Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA), through its WO-NEED initiative, played a key role in a recent stakeholders’ consultative workshop and inception meeting for the Nigeria Groundbreaking Gender Norms Survey on Gender Norms, Attitudes, Health, and Wellbeing Project. Organized by the Policy Innovation Center in collaboration with the Cross River State Government, the project targets children aged 10-14 and addresses critical issues like Sexual Reproductive Health, Gender-Based Violence, HPV Vaccination, Child Early Forced Marriage, and Women Economic Employment.
MEDA’s Director-General, Great Ogban, and Manager of Corporate Affairs, Nissi Ibiang, represented the agency and provided strategic input on women’s empowerment, a central pillar of the WO-NEED program. The event brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Health, to initiate a collaborative effort aimed at improving gender equality and wellbeing.
This project underscores the commitment to empowering women and girls in Cross River State and across Nigeria.
