Nela Asuquo Ekpenyong Celebrates Christmas with Women and Children in Cross River South
Mrs. Nela Asuquo Ekpenyong, the wife of Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, representing Cross River South Senatorial District, kicked off a series of festive Christmas parties for women and children across the district.
The events, collectively titled Cross River South Community Women and Children Christmas Party, commenced on Wednesday at the Akamkpa Local Government Council, catering to the Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency.
The celebrations featured a vibrant array of activities that included dance competitions, cake cutting, and the sharing of gifts, all contributing to a lively, festive atmosphere. A standout highlight of the event was the distribution of hundreds of bags of rice to women across various Local Government Areas within the constituencies, aimed at easing the festive season’s burdens for many families.

The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Dr. Mrs. Nkechi Emil-Inyang, wife of the Federal Lawmaker for Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency, Hon. Justina Edem, the Immediate Past Chairman of Odukpani Local Government Area, Comrade Katame Emilia Abang, Vice Chairman of Akamkpa Local Government Area, and the wives of House of Assembly members from the two Local Government Areas, among others.
The event exemplified a strong spirit of community, as it brought together local leaders, families, and community members to celebrate the season in unity and joy. Mrs. Nela Ekpenyong’s initiative serves as an annual highlight, reaffirming her commitment to supporting women and children in the district, especially during the holiday season.
