Obubra APC Chapter Chairman’s Plot To Endorse His Aspirant Exposed!

Mr. Egor Denis

Concerns have been raised regarding the Obubra APC Chapter Chairman, Mr. Egor Denis’, purported efforts to strong-arm ward chairmen into endorsing a designated aspirant via signature. According to insiders, Mr. Denis has openly backed this aspirant, reportedly receiving financial incentives to advance their interests.

Citing the All Progressives Congress Cross River State chapter guidelines on the nomination of Chairmanship candidate for the November 2nd council elections, it states that,

“A vote of “Yes” or “No” shall be affirmed at the respective Local Government Area council and Ward headquarters. Consensus for the purpose of nominating a candidate for the office of Local Government Council Chairman shall be by Local Government Executive Committee and Members of Chapter Caucus.”

The process of nominating and achieving consensus on the Chairmanship candidate will be facilitated by the chapter executive committee and members of the chapter Caucus, rather than being solely controlled by the chapter chairman and ward chairmen. Thus, I formally request that the chapter chairman and ward chairmen refrain from any unauthorized actions and be aware that such actions will be vigorously contested.

Pursuant to the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines, it is imperative that all aspirants be afforded the opportunity to partake in the process. Decisions that disregard the equal rights of others are without merit.

Mr. Egor Denis

In Obubra, a time-honored agreement exists between constituency 1 and 2, providing for the alternating Chairmanship. Constituency 2 has also established an internal rotational mechanism between Adun and Okum Clans to promote unity. As constituency 2 is next in line to produce the chairman, specifically from Okum, its three wards are eligible. Considering the Ochon ward’s previous tenure, aspirants from Iyamoyong and Apiapum wards are now rightfully positioned to contest the chairmanship.

We are also aware of the chapter chairman’s and three others’ alleged plans to promote individualistic zoning in favor of Iyamoyong Ward, to the detriment of Apiapum Ward, for the benefit of their preferred aspirant, who reportedly has shared positions among them.

We respectfully request that the State Executive Committee and Governor Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu advise Obubra Chapter Chairman, Mr. Egor Denis, to discontinue his exploitative practices to foster unity within the All Progressives Congress in Obubra.

SOS! SOS!! SOS!!! Obubra Council Elections!
