On Thursday, 15th May, 2025 at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, Asuquo Ekpenyong joined the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, as well as former Governors Mr. Donald Duke and Senator Liyel Imoke, Senator John Owan Enoh, Senator Eteng Williams alongside colleagues from the National Assembly and other notable stakeholders, for the official unveiling of the 2025 Carnival Calabar theme “The Traces of Time.”
Sen. Asuquo who started by saying “For over twenty years, Cross River State has proudly championed tourism and cultural celebration through the Carnival Calabar, widely regarded as Africa’s biggest street party.”
He further stated that this year’s theme invites us on a powerful journey through our shared history, rich heritage, and a vision of the future uniting people from across the globe in the vibrant spirit of Calabar Festival, with a dazzling showcase of art, music, culture, and togetherness.
