NIGERIAN SOCIETY OF CAMPUS WRITERS(NSCW) is an initiative of the Society of Young Nigerian Writers(SYNW).

~ In our usual efforts to encourage and support talented and skilled writers with passion. ~ The National Executives of Nigerian Society of Campus Writers (NSCW) is hosting a \’National Writing Competition of the Year(2023)\’ for amateur and professional poets, essayist, scriptwriters, video creators and audio editors(Nigerians) from across various chapters both within the country and outside.

The theme for poetry entries is \”HEADS ON HANDS\” with 6 stanzas and 5 lines. The theme for Prose entries is \”LABOURERS & REAPERS\” with the maximum and minimum words of 800 to 1000. The theme for Prose poem entries is \”THE ANTS & THE ELEPHANTS\” with 5 stanzas and 4 lines. The theme of video creation is \”THE APPLICATION OF SMART & HARD WORK\” with an estimate recording of 3-4 minutes. The theme for the audio entries is \”THE HEAVERS\” with a 2 minutes record.

The National Writing Competition of the Year aims to elevate and celebrate creative writers who think outside the box, dare to challenge conventions and offer new original work. The success of the competition depends on the standard of articles produced, the competition is a genuine celebration of good art and an intelligent fascinating examination of the artistic process.

The Objectives of this initiative are: To create an avenue where campus creative writers can brainstorm, meet and network, to promote creative writing and book reading culture in tertiary institutions, to hone and enhance the creative writing skills of aspiring campus writers, to award, reward and recognize outstanding campus writers, to organize seminars, symposia, fora and conferences at educating and informing aspiring campus writers, to publish and market the works of aspiring campus writers and lastly to hold monthly book reading and meeting.
