Ugwu Chinedu Michael popularly known as MENTEE is from Nsukka Local Government, Enugu state. He’s the last son in a family of 6, currently reside at Cross river, Calabar,
He attended secondary education at Government secondary school Bwari, Abuja. After secondary education he gain admission into University of calabar, Calabar, Cross River State to study Theatre and media studies .

Ugwu Chinedu Started making music freestyle and cover in 2018 when he did a cover of Reekado Banks and Harrysong’s song which was recognized.
In 2018 and 2019 Ugwu Chinedu Frequency did work with his friend Jerry on all his freestyles and covers before his first official single title \”CHECK\” with the stage name \”FREQUENCY\”, then he later changed his stage name to MENTEE in 2020.
Chinedu have re-fixed and redistributed CHECK adding it to his extended play (EP) of 5 songs (Check, Do it, Away & Outside ) which was released 2 July 2022 title Odikwa Mentee Ep. This is Chinedu first major project.
People believe my genre is Afro-fusion but I believe its a supreme melodic sound because it’s from above – Ugwu Chinedu.
Adding to my style of music, it is dynamic because its a blend of varieties from Afropop to afro-fusion and Afro beat, my sound are MELODIC SOUND and i just want people to accept his melodic style of music.
