On Monday, 28th April, a public hearing of the 2025 Bill set to establish Cross River State Diaspora Commission CRIDCOM – which had passed Second Reading in the Cross River State House of Assembly – was held.
The Bill which seeks to establish the Cross River State Diaspora Commission, provide for the engagement of Cross Riverians in Diaspora, the policies, projects and participation in the development of Cross River State; for the purpose of utilising the human capital and material Resources of Cross Riverians in diaspora towards the overall Socio-economic, Cultural and Political Development of Cross River State.
Holding at Mini-Auditorium of the Assembly Complex, the Hearing also involved other matters connected to the establishment and smooth running of Diaspora Commission; which wil be forwarded to State House as recommendations for indepth appraisal and further actions.
The chairman of this special Committee, Hon. Abang Samuel, Member representing Ikom 1 State Constituency precided over the public hearing; with other Committee members, CRIDCOM Chairman – Hon. Otu Okor, principal officers of the commission and members of the public, among others in attendance.
